Christmas Ornament Exchange

We all had a wonderful day at the Christmas Party. Despite a horrible, wet, gloomy day, we had ladies travel from North Yorkshire and Billingham in the North East, all having about a 3 hour journey to get to us!
 
The day started with stitching (I saw patchwork, embroidery, counted thread work, temari and beading) and chatting, followed by a fabulous feast! Everyone brought a dish of food towards lunch and it just proved that we have brilliant cooks as well as brilliant stitchers! We had quiches, sausage rolls, sandwiches, crisps, cake, pavlova, homemade sweeties, fruit salad, cheese and biscuits, wine, and much more!
 
After lunch and some shopping we had our Ornament Exchange, everyone who had stitched an ornament for the exchange drew another to take home. We had some fabulous ornaments this year encompassing all types of needlwork and everyone went home pleased with their exchanges. We were also lucky enough to have some kind souls who made ornaments and donated them to our tree! Thank you, you know who you are! We wanted to keep ALL of them and not do an exchange but we didn't want a riot (especially after some wine had been enjoyed!).
 
After some more stitching and shopping, mince pies and more food, everyone started to leave for home and carol concerts, etc!
 
If you missed out this year, please try and stitch an ornament for next year, you don't have to be at the party to take part, we will send your ornament to you.
 
In 2009 our Christmas Party and Ornament Exchange will be on Saturday 19th December. We hope to see you there!
