Information & Background

Fobbles is a new business developed by Beverley Trembath and recently joined by Edna Parr. Our aims are to:

• bring you quality needlecraft, textile and beading supplies from home and abroad; 
• promote British designers by profiling them on our website, selling their work and inviting them to teach at our workshops; 
• promote needlecrafts by holding regular workshops, group meetings, evening classes, residential retreats, exhibitions and events. 

Beverley has been involved with needlecrafts, particularly embroidery and beadwork, for many years – since being able to hold a needle! She was an active member of the local branch of the Embroiderers' Guild until its' unfortunate demise in 2005, spending nine years as programme secretary and also serving as Chairman for a year. She was the founder member of The Thursday Beaders and has run this well-attended group for over five years, she now runs very popular beginner beadwork classes and has a growing reputation for creating a rapidly increasing number of bead addicts! Beverley lives in the depths of the countryside with her husband David, Border Collie - Rosie, two cats – Whisky & Tinker and a wonderful garden – where she enjoys catching up with her stitching when she can ignore the weeds. Other pastimes include shopping, ironing and home-making – unfortunately she has very little time to indulge these pursuits!
 
Edna is also country based, living not far from Beverley, with her husband Mike, Max the dog, two cats and four chickens. They have a son Stuart who lives and works in Edinburgh. She mixes her needlework with her other hobby which is golf and is the ladies secretary for her local club at Seascale.
 
Edna's needlework skills come from a more practical background, making clothes as a student and then curtains and soft furnishings for the home. Knitting and crocheting have always been a natural part of the family activities.
 
She became hooked on Beading after joining the Thursday Beaders a few years ago and has enjoyed many workshops and events organised by them.
 
Through this she became reacquainted with Beverley, who she has known for many years, and the partnership developed.
