We are finalising details for some fantastic workshops in 2009, these include:

All these tutors are experts in their field and are very popular, we expect these events to book quickly so if you are interested please let us know as soon as possible. Full details including prices and pictures will be available soon.

Workshops and Events have been updated with NEW workshops later this year, things to look forward to include: patchwork workshops with Barbara Slee, Chris Gash and Helen Prescott, and for beaders we have a day's workshop with Jill Devon in September, have a look at our Events Calendar and treat yourself to a day out!

New Items added in March 2008

New Kelmscott Designs stitcher's accessories arrived, including mother of pearl thread rings, thread winder, scissors and a new needle minder. See all of our Kelmscott Designs products here.

New scissors just arrived from Dinky Dyes. Nice colourful scissors with good sharp blades for all your embroidery needs. Have a look at all our scissors here.

New charts just arrived from the Cat's Whiskers Design Studio in Australia. These are gorgeous designs by Janie Hubble, lovely clear charts and detailed instructions. Have a look at the designs here. Thread packs and fabrics also available - please email for details.

Workshops & Events updated - check what's on offer and treat yourself to one of our workshops and our delicious lunches (we actually think some people just come for the lunches and cakes!).

New Items added in February 2008

Bags4Fun Retreat with Bev Beattie, 31 August - 5 September 2008 All the details, prices, etc have now been finalised and we are taking bookings for this event which promises to be great fun! We have put some pictures on the workshop page to whet your appetite! Have a look here and book your place before they all go!

New Kelmscott Design products arriving end of February - we are expecting a new needle minder, mother of pearl ruler, thread holders, thread winders and scissors. Pictures and prices will be on the website as soon as we receive our parcel. Don't miss these if you are a collector!

New: Oliver Twists threads - fine and medium cotton for hand stitching and cotton machine embroidery threads for use with your sewing machine but can also be used for hand stitching. Oliver Twists have a wonderful colour range, please give us a ring if you need more details.

New Items added in January 2008

We will be open every Monday (check for Bank Holidays) during 2008 from 10am until 4pm, to enable you to have a look around and find out about our workshops, retreats and new products. We look forward to seeing you at other times by appointment.

We are very pleased to announce some NEW Fobbles Exclusive Canvaswork Designs by local designer Irene Coulthard. Irene has designed a range of Treasure Boxes, these are available as full colour chart packs with Appleton Wool packs and plastic canvas available separately. For full details click here.

We are pleased to announce that from February 2008 we will be holding Get-together Evenings here at Gubbergill, on the first and third Tuesday of the month, between 7pm and 9pm. Come along and work on your latest project, catch up with friends over a cup of coffee, have a browse and find out about all the latest workshops and new products!

We are delighted to announce the details of our 2 day workshop with Isobel Hall in August 2008. Isobel is well known for her innovative bags and books. Her book, "Bags with Paper & Stitch" was published by Batsford in September 2007. Isobel will be teaching a 2-day workshop on 9 & 10 August 2008: Tags for Bags & Books. We still have a few places remaining on our Green Man Beadwork Weekend with tutor Elaine Peel on 9 & 10 February 2008. Please get in touch if you are interested. This workshop uses a specially commissioned ceramic face from Heather Kingsley-Heath and promises to be great fun. Fantastic delicious Fobbles lunches included on both days.

New Items added in December 2007

The Fobbles Christmas Party was a great successes, thank you to everyone who came and also for the wonderful food - we had a feast! Our first Christmas Ornament Exchange was fabulous - we had over 30 ornaments donated. See some pictures here.

New Ackworth Sampler Chart - Mary Busby - a faithful copy from Doreen Holmes of The Leisure Needle. A wonderful chart, full of motifs and a pleasure to stitch. See it here

We are proud to announce the launch of the very first Fobbles Exclusive kit, "Golden Dawn", which has been designed for us by Jennifer C Burns.
 
This gorgeous hardanger design is presented as a full kit containing ready hemmed 28ct Jobelan fabric, full skeins of Kaalund silk threads, full ball of DMC perle, full reel of Ophir metallic gold thread, needles, delica beads, chart, stitch diagrams and instructions.
 
The original kit contains Kaalund silks in the shade Forest Floor, other colourways coming soon!
